A Call to Prayer

In His book "A Call to Prayer", J.C. Ryle posed this simple question: Do you pray? That is a question that only we can answer ourselves. No one (outside of Sovereign God) knows our prayer life better than we do. Our prayer life determines more thn we will ever know. Very few pursuits are as essential to the soul of a man or woman of God than the pursuit of prayer. To be prayerless is to be without God, to be without Christ. A prayerless life leads one to esteem his own power and intellect. But a prayerful life depends totally and completely on the merce, grace, and providence of God. Now is always the time to pray. "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
